DAY ONE
Evening
Freshen up in preparation for your Welcome Reception in the hospitality suite where you will be reunited with your fellow veterans.
DAY TWO: Army Salute
Morning/Afternoon
Tour Cantigny Park, the magnificent estate of the late Col. Robert R. McCormick, former publisher and editor of the Chicago Tribune. Be transported back in time to war-torn France, the Omaha beach, a German bunker and a Vietnam jungle with amazingly realistic, life-sized dioramas in the First Division Museum honoring Big Red One soldiers. You might be lucky enough to catch a Civil War re-enactment held on the grounds every Spring and Fall. Enjoy a casual lunch at the Fareways Grill overlooking the beautiful Cantigny Golf Course.
Evening
Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the area's many world-class restaurants. Afterwards, take in some Broadway-style entertainment at the Drury Lane Theatre or simply relax in the hotel lounge while trading war stories over a fine brandy.
DAY THREE: Navy Salute
Morning
Reveille is at dawn for a motor coach ride to visit the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Tour the base, and perhaps attend boot camp graduation ceremonies. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Officers Club with its magnificent view of Lake Michigan, followed by your reunion's Memorial Service at the Recruit Training Command Chapel.
Afternoon
Head into Chicago to visit the Memorial Water Wall, a veterans memorial at Soldier Field, and the McCormick Freedom Project. Stroll down Michigan Avenue's famous "Magnificent Mile" or head over to the Hancock Building or Willis (formerly Sears) Tower to gaze in awe at the commanding views from the skydeck . Don't miss Navy Pier, a former Navy training center, that is now a hub of entertainment, activity and fun.
Evening
Catch an Entertainment Cruises dinner cruise from Navy Pier to enjoy the sunset and the shimmering lights of Chicago's famed skyline from the deck of one of their luxury ships. Enjoy a sumptuous four-course meal before dancing the night away as fireworks light up the night sky.
DAY FOUR: Air Force Salute
Morning
Tour the Illinois Aviation Museum at Bolingbrook. Admire the carefully restored T-2C Buckeye jet trainer aircraft and historic Nieuport 11 replica. View the ongoing restoration of a T-33 in the 6,000 square foot Hanger One. Chat with WWI Aero Builders Club members about their 3/4-scale Fokker E-III that they've built to fly in special museum events. Check into new activities and programs, or tag along with one of the Young Eagles on a flight into the wild blue yonder.
Afternoon
With so many great restaurants to choose from, lunch is up to you today.
Afterwards, choose from several options to complete your trip to DuPage. Here are some favorites:
