Sign of the Times: The Great American Political Poster Exhibit

Friday March 29, 2019 - Sunday April 28, 2019

The hard-working American political poster first appeared in the 1844 presidential election, and it has attempted to catch both eyes and votes through the use of powerful visual language ever since. This national traveling exhibit showcases a variety of poster styles, design trends, and printing technologies that have been employed to create these powerful campaign messengers over a span of 168 years. Sign of the Times features 50 colorful, high-quality reproductions of the most exciting and rarely-seen presidential campaign posters in our country’s history. A Program of ExhibitsUSA, a national division of Mid-America Arts Alliance and The National Endowment for the Arts.
