Words can’t begin to communicate how pleased we are with the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau. In my position, I plan several conferences a year and some one day programs. When we have been in need of a venue, Julie Scholle is the first one that I contact. Julie personally knows the hotels and conference centers and represents them well. Because of this professionalism and service we have had many events in DuPage County. When I explain what I’m looking for, and what our budget is, Julie quickly has many choices for us to choose from. The resource of the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau has saved countless hours of research and headaches. I have always been impressed by their professionalism and personal touch, and it has made a wonderful impact on our organization. We will continue to use the services and resources of the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau as we plan our future events.

I have been planning and escorting motor coach groups for over 25 years. I always use the expertise of the Convention & Visitors Bureaus. In 2007, Julie Scholle from the DuPage CVB helped me put together a four-day Chicago trip-lodging, restaurants, step-on guide, itinerary with a variety of activities, etc. The CVB even had an incentive at the time that helped pay the bill of the step-on guide. Julie met and welcomed our group upon our arrival and even went to dinner with us. Julie is an asset to the CVB and to the City of Chicago. Her smile and outgoing personality will win you over the minute you meet her. Her knowledge of the area cannot be beat. The group praised the trip the whole time saying they didn’t know there was so much to see and do in Chicago. I am still receiving compliments that “Chicago” was one of the best trips we have ever done. Thanks to Julie and the DuPage CVB, our Chicago trip was “the best”!

STUDENT/ADULT GROUPS
Julie Scholle and the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau have been extremely helpful to our company and we plan student and adult trips. Star Destinations have benefited from Julie’s advice for accommodations, meals, activities, and other services for our tours.
Julie and her co-workers have arranged site inspections, even taking the time to personally escort me to various locations around the county. Through her promotion, our company is much more aware of what DuPage County has to offer, and we can pass these suggestions to our clients. And – perhaps more importantly – Julie and her contacts are prompt in returning calls and messages, which makes my job much easier.
We were first attracted to and made aware of the attractions and accommodations in DuPage County through a money-back offer at the Heartland Travel Show. The incentive was welcomed, and we now hope to continue a long relationship with the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau.

We had the pleasure of working with Julie Scholle associated with the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau this past winter and spring. We were putting together a high school band trip for around 120 people. She was a great help in the following areas:
Julie was with us every step of the way from the initial contact until the conclusion of the trip. Our organization would be very happy if we can find a reason, and hopefully we can, to work with Julie in the future.
Gary Lipshutz Galco Tours _______________________________________________ FAMILY REUNION
DuPage County is the ideal place to host a family reunion. The Doubletree Hotel Chicago/OakBrook was great. The entire staff at the hotel made sure we had everything we needed. I cannot thank the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau enough for all the nice things they provided for our reunion. With employees like Julie Scholle, I know that the next time we come to DuPage County, we can’t go wrong. They helped me throughout the reunion. They made all the name badges, provided bags and pens to stuff our “goodie bags”, and I can’t forget the candy – it was all great! Our reunion was a great success!!
Ada Johnson Reunion Coordinator Gipson/Gibson Family Reunion 2007 _______________________________________________ MILITARY REUNION Being a planner for the USS Barton reunion each year, I always contact the CVB at different locations. I find them to be a great help for hotels, tours, etc. Our Barton reunion was just held this past September (2011) in DuPage County in the Chicago area. I reached out to the CVB and found them to be super best for assisting me. I have planned several reunions and the CVB here in DuPage County was without a doubt #1 on my list. Julie Scholle, Senior Sales Manager, couldn't have done any more. She always followed up to make sure everything was in order. I can be contacted by anyone the CVB would like to use me for reference. Thanks for all your help!
Gene Palinski President/Planner USS Barton DD722 Reunion _______________________________________________ MILITARY REUNION I represent several military organizations and have had the pleasure over the years of dealing with Julie Scholle in connection with planning military reunions. I have always been a firm believer in making my first call to the local CVB in the city where I am looking to host a military reunion, and I have to admit Julie is one of the best I have dealt with. Julie is not only very personable and professional, but her knowledge of the local area, attractions and hotels that are "Military Reunion Friendly" is a credit to her position with the CVB. Julie not only acts as your personal chauffeur and tour guide but puts together a comprehensive site check plan and then follows up frequently on your progress with those potential sites. If you are considering Chicago for your next military reunion, I strongly suggest you contact Julie Scholle at the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau.

MILITARY REUNION The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau was extremely helpful not only in helping us select an excellent hotel property for our annual National Reunion but in their attention to detail in suggesting various venues for our veterans to consider while we were at the reunion. Their program approach gave us much to think about and choose, so we could tailor a reunion to our needs and price range. We had not had that type of assistance in the past 20 years of planning annual reunions. I am especially grateful for Julie Scholle, Senior Sales Manager, whose expertise in reunion planning for veterans groups was exceptional. She was also very prompt in keeping the lines of communication open with our organization. We will definitely consider coming back to DuPage County, and I highly recommend their CVB to veterans' organizations.

MILITARY REUNION My wife and I would like to thank the DuPage CVB for their help and support for our upcoming Ships Reunion for 2010. The DuPage CVB was great for setting up hotel stays and visits to many other hotels in DuPage County. Julie Scholle took us on tours and showed many different sites that would be of interest to our group. She also set us up with tour companies and entertainment groups such as DJ’s, Bands and singers.
I cannot say enough about the DuPage CVB and Julie Scholle, Sales Manager. She did a wonderful job in leading us in the right direction. You can be sure she will be there to help with any problems that you may encounter, like helping me remember the many people we talked with. It is hard for any of us to remember all that we saw during our visit. She took notes when I did not. Once more, I cannot thank the DuPage CVB enough for all the work they do in supporting everyone who asks for their help.

MILITARY REUNION I am currently the Reunion Planner for the USS Intrepid for the Midwest states. We were fortunate enough to attend a Military Reunion Conference for Military planners in DuPage County in June 2009.
I originally met Julie Scholle in 2002 while attending another Military Reunion Conference in Peoria. She had been very persistent to have our reunion in DuPage County. During the conference, my wife and I were overwhelmed at the amount of rooms at the 1st class hotels in the DuPage area. Needless to say, we are working on having our National Reunion there. An additional 220 people would attend this reunion.
We were very happy with the staff of the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau. We have hosted reunions (nine so far) from Nashville, Indianapolis, Louisville, Evansville and two in the Northern Indiana. We have never met a greater staff than at the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau. We are looking forward to our reunion in 2011 and to also work with Julie and the staff of the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Charles Coppess USS Intrepid _______________________________________________ MILITARY REUNION I cannot thank Julie Scholle and the rest of her staff enough at the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau for all of their assistance in planning our annual military reunion. Organizing an event like this from 200 miles away began as a daunting challenge. Their assistance with lodging, transportation and event planning was invaluable and resulted in one of the best reunions we have ever had! Kudos to the DuPage CVB and the friendly people of DuPage County for their kind hospitality. DuPage County is as great place for a reunion!

MILITARY REUNION The 2008 Annual Reunion of USS Mullinnix DD944 Association conducted at the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel in Downers Grove, Illinois, was a tremendous success and one of our best ever. A great deal of the credit for that success goes to the DuPage County CVB. They were with us every step of the way from advance planning over the past 4 years, through hotel site checks and tours planning, reservations, registrations and then the 4-day reunion itself.
My wife and I have been planning USS Mullinnix reunions for several years now and we can tell you that the DuPage County CVB staff is the absolute best we have had the pleasure of working with. It all began for us when we were invited to attend a Familiarization (FAM) weekend in DuPage County for an opportunity to sample some of the many attractions, hotels and restaurants the area has to offer. For us, the real benefit was meeting and getting to know the CVB staff, specifically Julie Scholle. They have provided all of the customary support we expect from a CVB and much more!
Julie not only collected all of the hotel proposals for us and then put together a comprehensive site check plan; she also picked us up at O’Hare and chauffeured us around for a week to meet with the hotels, restaurants, tour companies and shopping mall managers in addition to arranging complimentary overnight accommodations at each of the prospective hotels. She also saw us off at O’Hare on our departure home! Following hotel selection, Julie remained in frequent contact with us to be sure we were being well cared for both at the hotel and with respect to other needs including tours.
As we got closer to our reunion Julie brought others onboard for assistance with our final needs, which were not many! What else could there be? They not only provided our “welcome bags” for each attendee (at no cost), they also collected the stuffings and stuffed the bags for us! AND delivered them to the hotel!
In the final analysis, the past four years have been a downhill ride for us as the staff at the DuPage CVB made our jobs as reunion planners much easier. Every time we have talked with Julie she has always asked, “What else can we do for you?” Our “final answer” is, absolutely nothing, you have done it all!
Robert C. Houghton, President USS Mullinnix DD944 Association _______________________________________________ MILITARY REUNION Over the past eight years as a Reunion Planner, by far I can highly recommend the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau as one of the best, if not the best, Convention & Visitors Bureau that I have ever dealt with. Julie Scholle and the DuPage CVB go out of their way to help the planner find the appropriate hotel that will fit their particular reunion needs.
By far, our October 2007 Reunion at the Hilton Lisle in DuPage County was in fact the best reunion that this Association has ever had. This was based on what our members said in terms of our attendance and that the hotel was reunion friendly. The hotel made the reunion a win/win event.
There were so many attractions to see and do; however, none of this could have been possible without the expertise and professionalism displayed by the friendly/energetic members of the DuPage CVB. Therefore I would highly recommend any planner to avail themselves and their members of this outstanding service! It was voted by our general membership to have our 2012 reunion in DuPage County.

MILITARY REUNION We had the pleasure of dealing with the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau in connection with our military reunion in 2006. We have held reunions annually since 1987, moving them around this great country of ours. We selected DuPage County partly for its proximity to downtown Chicago and the Great Lakes Training Center, and to a large extent because of the outstanding service we received from Julie Scholle affiliated with the DuPage CVB.
To be honest, we had never heard of DuPage County until we met Julie at a TRN Con/Fam at a remote location she was visiting purely to sell DuPage. As a result of her warm, engaging personality and her salesmanship (and obvious belief in DuPage), we traveled to DuPage County and had the pleasure of a full court press introduction to DuPage County.
We were sold – on DuPage and on Julie! We took over 670 hotel room nights and delighted nearly 400 members of our organization.
In 23 years of meeting planning in 15 states as widely scattered as Maine, New Mexico and Louisiana, Julie has earned a place in the pantheon of “The Best” service and support representatives. We are planning to rebook our 2011 reunion in DuPage County.

From the very beginning with the reception at the Hilton Garden Inn, the superb dinner at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook, the hilarious play at the Drury Lane Theatre, and then the next two days filled to the brim with exciting experiences, the entire trip was a marvel of entertainment and education. And all the sumptuous food! All the providers were the personification of hospitality and every one of them gave a favorable impression. I certainly hope to bring some of my residents to DuPage County. Thanks again for your kindness, generosity and hospitality. FAM TRIP
Our thanks to Julie Scholle for all that she did to make our familiarization visit what it was.
When we first talked, I knew that something was right about DuPage for OFC and I felt that I had to get to know more. As we corresponded and as I received your information over time, I knew that your material reflected the "feel" that I look for in an area. When we confirmed our visit, I felt that I was doing the right thing and that I would be happy with my decision.
Contrary to the way some anticipated events disappoint when they arrive, our visit to DuPage was "over the top" and continues to deliver fond memories well after our arrival home. As I have said to anyone who will listen (in the trade or just friends and family)...DuPage is awesome!!!
Pat and I reflected on our tour over dinner tonight and it is not unnoticed that Julie took an immense amount of personal time to be with us and to ensure that we experienced DuPage in the way that we did. For that we are very, very thankful and we hope that you feel (as we do) that your time was well spent.
As I said when we left....you have more than done your job....now it's my turn.
So...thanks again. I know we will be doing business together over the next few years, and please know that if DuPage was looking for two more goodwill ambassadors in Canada you have definitely found them.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon - hopefully through the front window of a 56 passenger bus.
