Easter Weekend Family Activities & Dining in DuPage County

Planning to be in DuPage County for Easter weekend? Check out these opportunities for kids to hunt for Easter eggs and have breakfast with the Easter Bunny, or select from a host of places serving Easter brunch and dinner.

Easter Brunch at Brookfield Zoo

For the kids:

Have Breakfast with the Bunny at the Brookfield Zoo on either Saturday, March 31 or April 7.  There are 9:00AM & 11:00AM seatings. Hop to it and bring the whole family to this annual event! Enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet in the zoo’s Discovery Center. Mr. and Mrs. Bunny will be on hand for photo opportunities, and musical entertainment will be provided by the Banjo Buddies. Some of the Children’s Zoo’s furry critters will also pay a visit. Seating is limited. Contact the zoo for costs and reservations (required).

Another Breakfast with the Bunny is being held in the Ginkgo Restaurant at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle on Friday, April 6 & Saturday, April 7. This yummy bunny time lets your kids have a delicious breakfast while spending family time together. The Easter Bunny will visit with each table.  All ages.  Use the link or call for costs and times.

Yet another Breakfast with the Easter Bunny! This one’s at Cantigny Park in Wheaton on Saturday, April 7. Breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, pancakes, pork sausage, hash browns, sliced fresh fruit, assorted chilled juices, coffee and tea. A free photo with the Easter Bunny and strolling magician entertainment will be included. Free bunny ears for each child! There is a buffet charge for adults and children age3 and older.

Also at Cantigny on Saturday, April 7, Easter Egg Hunt activities begin at 10:30AM on the South Lawn at the Robert McCormick Museum. Visit with the Easter Bunny, make an Easter craft, and enjoy a special Easter Storytelling performance by Mary Kroening.  Story times are 11:15AM and 11:45AM. Egg Hunt begins at 11:00AM on the lawns of the McCormick Museum. Bring your baskets! Limit 5 eggs per child. All eggs will have a prize inside and special prizes will be awarded for finding the golden egg. No registration required. This event will be held rain or shine. begins at 11:00am. Free to all ages, no registration required.

Planning to take the family out for Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 8? Take your pick!

The Morton Arboretum, Lisle – Put on your best Easter bonnet and have a wonderful family meal together while the Easter Bunny visits your table. All ages. $32 for children; adults $47 ($26 for Arboretum member children; $38 for Arboretum member adults). Ginkgo Restaurant. Seatings at 9:30AM, Noon and 3:00PM.

Abbington Brunch – Sweets Table

Abbington Distinctive Banquets, Glen Ellyn – Feast on exquisite brunch selections prepared by executive chef Robert Fabbri & chef Philip Griffin. Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, Lemont – Some of the items you will enjoy are: chef carved turkey & ham, bacon & sausage, breakfast potatoes, biscuits & gravy, omelet & waffle station, cheese blintz, cheese & fruit display, fresh shrimp display, chicken Dijon, teriyaki glazed salmon, pasta primavera, salads, assorted pastries, desserts, and more. Children’s menu available. The Easter Bunny will make a special visit. Seatings 9:30AM, 11:30AM & 2PM. Cost: $29.95 Adults; $15.95 Children; Free for Children 4 & under. Reservations required.

Arrowhead Golf Club, Wheaton – Chef Alan Pirhoffer is offering a special menu of traditional and not-so-traditional creations for this year’s brunch. Performing a variety of jazz standards will be the band Zazz, promising to provide a soothing dining atmosphere during your brunch. Cost: $42.95 adult; $20.95 children ages 5-12. Reservations required.

Hyatt Lodge, Oak Brook – Created by Executive Chef Steve Langlois and his expert culinary team, you’ll enjoy a savvy display of food selections. Cost: $54 ($25/$50 for children/seniors). Reservations required.

Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse, Lombard  – This extraordinary Champagne Brunch features breakfast favorites, omelet & scramble station, Belgian waffle station, carving stations, salads, sides, entrees, desserts, & a children’s menu. Cost: $41.95 Adults (including champagne); $21.95 Kids 6-12; free for kids 5 & under. Reservations are recommended.

Holiday Inn Willowbrook, Willowbrook – Champagne Brunch by reservation only. Featuring breakfast and lunch items, carving station, omelette station, waffle station, homemade desserts, champagne, assorted beverages. Cost: $31.95 Adults: $14.95 Children.

Hilton Chicago/Indian Lakes Resort, Bloomingdale – Featuring two dining options this year! Enjoy a fabulous feast of brunch favorites including omelet & Belgian waffle stations, poached shrimp, smoked salmon, herb roasted leg of lamb, brown sugar glazed ham, a Kids Knee-High Buffet, chocolate fountain and more.
