Community Conversations: A Place In The World
May 22 | 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Centered on curiosity and active listening, this program invites you to see familiar surroundings in a fresh light. Share your own stories and listen to the rich narratives of our community. Together, we will de-familiarize the familiar and rediscover each other in new contexts. Be a part of this transformative dialogue and help shape our collective identity. Teachers will earn 1 hour of professional development credit as they join us to explore the threads connecting our diverse experiences.
Community Conversations: Illinois Mosaic
June 12 | 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Participants will read two compelling stories about immigration and the journeys that brought individuals to America. Through these narratives, we invite guests to reflect on their own personal journeys. Together, we will explore the threads that connect our diverse experiences. Come celebrate and discover how our individual stories form a shared community mosaic. Teachers will earn 1 hour of professional development credit as they join us to explore the threads connecting our diverse experiences.
Community Conversations: Plum's Journey
August 12 | 3:30-4:30 PM
Participants will explore the natural and human processes that carry a plum from the tree to the hand of the person eating it. The conversation invites guests to recognize the profound ways we are interconnected with people we may never meet. Teachers will receive 1 professional development hour for their participation.
Community Conversations: Conclusion
