Even Andy Warhol would agree that he has had decades more than his “fifteen-minutes” of fame.
Warhol was simultaneously an artist, magazine illustrator and magazine owner, filmmaker and gossip columnist. His life and work have endured, and he continues to influence product design, media and fashion. However, it is especially his influence as a fashionista that is at the core of these events.
Featured articles and garments in the exhibit come from many different sources: The LHS collection, including a newsprint dress, as well as “begged, borrowed, donated & purchased” items from his most productive decades. Immerse yourself in vintage Andy Warhol inspired designs and feel the candy color explosion of fuchsia, turquoise, lime green and cherry red surround you. Some visitors may feel somewhat nostalgic for all those clothes they may have donated or thrown away.
