Elizabeth Carlson, of ElliePresents, will give a lecture with props and images about the history of Zombies in American pop culture on Thursday, October 17 at 7pm at the Addison Public Library. Zombies came from folklore and landed directly on the silver screen by 1929. Zombies can now be found in film, television, computer games, festivals, mobile apps, websites, blogs, podcasts, music and yes-even books. Ms. Carlson will examine both the scientific and folkloric origins of the zombie construct and will present several theories as to why zombies have such a huge appeal. Program is co-sponsored by the Addison Public Library.
