If you haven’t embraced winter, this is the year to do so! Some of our favorite holiday traditions in DuPage are outside — and we know the need to get out and about doesn’t stop simply when the snow rolls in. Get ready to grab your hat and gloves, the spirit and beauty of the season awaits.
Some of the best holiday moments are the simplest — including the unpretentious joy of a winter stroll, adorned with twinkling lights and the sights and sounds of magical holiday hustle and bustle. DuPage downtowns offer the quintessential warmth and charm of small-town Midwest, complete with light displays, welcoming shop owners and restaurants ready to help you grab something to go. Be sure to check out Dining at a Distance and current dining offers.
Of course, our annual tradition demands a stop at The Morton Arboretum, which offers a light spectacle unlike any other! Be sure to book your advanced tickets for this year’s 2-mile drive, as the team at the arboretum shines new light on this beautiful woodscape through Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum. Not to be outdone is Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo — celebrating its 39th year and boasting Chicagoland’s largest light festival.
Be sure to check out our Calendar of Events, as many of our partners are finding new ways to offer up connections and engagement.
Cheers and happy holidays!
