4. Naper Settlement
If you want to be transported back in time, Naper Settlement is the place to go. This interactive outdoor history museum is home to 30 historic structures, including a one-room schoolhouse and working blacksmith and print shops. There are special events and various educational programs throughout the year, both on- and off-site, so you can always find something to do with kids at this well-renowned establishment.

7. Yorktown Center
Located on the lower level of the mall is the Children's Play Area, a 2,000 square-foot play space that combines art, technology, and a playground. No matter the weather outside, this is a great option for your kids to run, jump, laugh, and learn. After you get some energy out, enjoy a meal in the Brookfield Zoo Children's Dining Area. They have a hands-on mural that teaches kids about the pollinators that help to bring us the food we eat.
