In the timeless words of Shakespeare, "What's in a name?" Naming a business is both an art and a science, blending creativity with strategic thinking. One must carefully think of something that's catchy and will stick for years to come. Oftentimes, it comes from a family name, a memory, or something unique to the establishment. When the name is well-chosen, it creates an instant connection.

Growing up, Brewmaster Paul Kreiner and his extended family spent summer vacations in a small town in central Wisconsin. Every day at noon, the town whistle blew. The sounding of the noon whistle indicated it was time to crack open the first beer of the day. This tradition was, of course, about drinking great beer, but more importantly, creating lasting memories with family and friends.

In 2012, Paul and his two lifelong friends, Mike Condon and Jim Cagle, decided to open a brewery in Illinois. The three friends set out to develop great tasting session beer with the intention that these lower alcohol ales can be enjoyed all day with family and friends. Noon Whistle Brewing officially opened its doors in 2014 with the original production facility and tasting room in Lombard. Before long, the guys branched out beyond only producing styles with lower ABV to include hazy, hoppy, sours, and everything in between. They opened Noon Whistle Brewing - Naperville in 2020, where they brew the majority of their beer. While Noon Whistle still brews at Lombard, they are reserved for brewing smaller batches of beer. The Lombard brewpub also has a full kitchen where you can order appetizers, pizza, flatbreads, and weekend brunch!
