In the timeless words of Shakespeare, "What's in a name?" Naming a business is both an art and a science, blending creativity with strategic thinking. One must carefully think of something that's catchy and will stick for years to come. Oftentimes, it comes from a family name, a memory, or something unique to the establishment. When the name is well-chosen, it creates an instant connection.
Husband and wife team Markus and Shanti Schramm acquired the Manna Bread® baking division from a company based in Vancouver, Canada, in 2008. Manna Bread is an unleavened organic certified and kosher certified bread that contains no salt, oil, yeast, sweeteners, or flour. Sprouted for over 3 days, it is pure nutrition at its best.
They named the company Manna Organics because all good things come from above. Manna is a biblical term which means "from heaven". In 2019, when they opened the restaurant, they kept with the theme of “manna” and decided to name the restaurant Manna Kitchen. Manna Kitchen, recognized as one of the Top 100 Vegan Restaurants in America, continues to feature products from the Manna Organics line in its restaurant.. While they are not affiliated with any religious organization, both Markus and Shanti feel the term “manna” is befitting their mission of making good-for-you, plant based foods that fuel the body and mind as best as they know how to.
