Illumination: Tree Lights

November 23, 2019 through January 5, 2020, see trees in a different light at Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum. Be captured by the beauty and experience the value of trees in radiant light, color and through special effects. This is a must experience holiday event for all ages.

Be surrounded by color as you walk a one-mile paved path amid interactive lighting effects that highlight the gifts of trees in winter. Enjoy seasonal music and marvel at the ever-changing and captivating lighting designs.

Now in its seventh season, in this unparalleled spectacle of color, light, and sound, there are returning favorites and some surprising new sights including Tree Fascination, a brilliant digital project of immersive color and pattern on a grove of Easter white and Scots pine trees and a new route with a more spacious pathway.

As in past years, concession tents along the trail will feature snacks and hot beverages, including gourmet hot chocolate, and visitors can also warm up around cozy fire pits along the Illumination path.

Weekdays at Illumination offer visitors a full slate of entertainment options in addition to lower pricing and lighter crowds. Those who visit Tuesday through Thursday will have the opportunity to enjoy live music from the area’s top bands, visits with Santa and tastings of beer, wine and spirits.
