  1. Stop by one of many forest preserves with your pup for a peaceful stroll or a place to soak in the sunshine. With the purchase of a permit, some DuPage preserves like Blackwell and Greene Valley even offer off-leash dog areas where they can freely roam. So be sure to check the preserve website for details regarding leash regulations and other dog-walking rules. 
     
  2. Outdoor, pet-friendly fun can be found all throughout the county. Numerous outdoor attractions, such as Cantigny (every Monday for "Paws in the Park") and The Morton Arboretum (on specified “Dog Days”) provide a welcoming space for you and your dog to spend quality time together.  
     
  3. Looking for a longer adventure? The Illinois Prairie Path is a great choice; the first rail-to-trail conversion spans over 60 miles, with 40 of those miles being in DuPage. It connects with multiple charming downtowns, natural areas, and forest preserves, making it a great option for a whole-day adventure. 
     
  4. Bring your dog to one of our park districts for various one-of-a-kind events and activities. Please ensure that your dog is leashed as required by individual park districts and consult with staff or the website before bringing dogs indoors.
